Residents of Yakutia PDA implementing projects totaling 124 bln rubles - Trutnev

YAKUTSK. June 2 (Interfax) - Residents of the Southern Yakutia priority development area (PDA) are implementing projects in the region totalling about 124 billion rubles, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, who is also the Russian president's envoy to the Far East Federal District, said.

"By amount of attracted investment, the republic is in sixth place among the regions of the Far East. There is still room to grow. Forty projects of residents totalling about 124 billion rubles are being implemented. The multiplier is one to 14. A good figure on the whole, but not a record among priority development areas in the Far East," Trutnev said at a working meeting in Yakutsk.

He also noted the projects of coal group Kolmar that are being carried out in the Southern Yakutia PDA. "The declared amount of investment is 104 billion rubles, 51 billion rubles have already been invested. About 5,000 jobs have been created. [...] The most important thing we've achieved as a result of the support is that we gave the city of Neryungri a second life," Trutnev said.

Reviewing the operation of the Yakutia PDA, he said it has 24 residents with investment totalling 12.4 billion rubles.

Yakutia has two PDAs, Southern Yakutia and Yakutia. The Southern Yakutia PDA was created in December 2016, with a large mining industry center located in the Neryungri district, where Kolmar is the anchor investor.
