Russia registers 8,731 new cases of Covid-19, 397 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. April 30 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 8,731 cases of Covid-19 and 397 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"Over the past day, 8,731 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 82 regions of Russia, including 1,251 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (14.3%)," the headquarters said.

In the past 24 hours, 8,406 patients were discharged from hospitals upon recovery, and 397 patients died from Covid-19 across Russia.

According to the headquarters, Moscow saw 2,662 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 57 deaths and 2,008 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

The morbidity level has been the lowest in the Republic of Altai (five cases) and Tuva (three). Not a single infection has been reported by the Jewish, Nenets and Chukotka autonomous districts.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia on March 2, 2020, it has registered a total of 4,805,288 cases of Covid-19, including 110,128 deaths and 4,427,946 recoveries.

The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Friday that Russia had performed more than 129.1 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 328,000 over the past day. As many as 513,012 people remain under medical observation.
