Putin hopes that problems with Nord Stream 2 will be solved

MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said at a meeting with French businessmen that he hopes that the problems with the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project will be solved.

France's Engie is a partner of the Nord Stream 2 project.

"It's purely an economic project, which has nothing to do with the current political situation. There has been a lot of talk about attempts at unfair competition," Putin said.

"There are various political forces that believe that electricity flows directly from the socket," Putin said, drawing a parallel with a literary character who believed that "croissants and buns grow right on trees."
