OPUK RANGE, Crimea. April 22 (Interfax) - The servicemen of Russia's Southern Military District and the Airborne Forces have successfully accomplished every training mission in the course of an exercise held in Crimea, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"The final stage of the exercise of the Southern Military District and the Airborne Forces, which took place within the framework of a snap preparedness check, ended at the Opuk range today. The forces successfully accomplished every training mission in providing military security to the southern borders of the Russian Federation," Shoigu said in Crimea on Thursday, when speaking at a conference summarizing the results of a surprise preparedness check of the Southern Military District and the Airborne Forces.

The exercise held at the Opuk range involved combined-arms army units, air force and air defense formations, warships, vessels, military units of the Black Sea Fleet's coastal forces, some forces of the Caspian Flotilla, and units of the Airborne Forces.
