Court gives Navalny's press secretary 10 days' arrest for organization of unauthorized rally

MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - Moscow's Meshchansky District Court has ruled to give ten days of administrative arrest to Kira Yarmysh, opposition activist Alexei Navalny's press secretary, for violating the rally organization procedure, lawyer Veronica Polyakova told Interfax on Wednesday.

"Kira has been found guilty of committing the offence covered by Code of Administrative Offences Article 20.2, Part 2 (violation of a procedure for organizing a public event) and given ten days of administrative arrest," Polyakova said.

She said Yarmysh's arrest will be appealed.

As was reported earlier on Wednesday, Yarmysh was detained in Moscow. Her lawyer said she was accused of calling for joining an unsanctioned rally.
