Russia to save for future use painful measures against U.S. business - Lavrov

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - Russia has the ability to take measures that would be painful for U.S. business, but will keep them 'for future use,' Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"Sectoral sanctions have been declared in relation to Russia's sovereign debt and dealing with this debt. For obvious reasons, we lack any comparable levers of influence of such a scale on the United States, but our experts are actually assessing this scale as something that is absolutely attainable for our economy. I guess that's the way it'll be. In any case, we have found and will find a way out of any kind of situations," Lavrov said at a press conference on Friday.

"But we also have the ability to take painful measures in relation to U.S. business. We'll save them for future use, too," he said.
