More than 8 mln people vaccinated against Covid-19 in Russia to date - deputy PM

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - The number of people vaccinated against Covid-19 in Russia significantly exceeds the figure of eight million, and the further intensification of the vaccination campaign will allow the country's authorities to consider lifting coronavirus-related restrictions soon, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said.

"The figure of more than eight million has been mentioned here [at a meeting of the Russian Health Ministry board], but the film was probably prepared long before the board meeting, and today this number is already considerably higher," Golikova said at the ministry board meeting on Friday.

"The volume of vaccination in Russia is growing, which is good. It allows us to consider lifting the restrictions at some point in the near future," she said.
