Digital Development Ministry proposes creating separate judicial authority to consider criminal cases against IT cos for economic reasons - Shadaev
MOSCOW. April 15 (Interfax) - The Russian Ministry for Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media is proposing to introduce a special court to consider criminal cases on economic articles in relation to IT-companies, ministry head Maksut Shadaev said.
"We all understand that we have a very large public sector customer: state companies, state agencies. We know that there are criminal cases against all major IT-companies, almost all of them. We understand that investigating these cases is always difficult, because special expertise, special skills are required," Shadaev said Thursday at a meeting of the Federation Council's Digital Economy Development Council on "Digital maturity of the social sphere and economy of Russian constituent regions."
"That's why we suggest creating a separate court that would investigate economic criminal cases against IT companies, where expertise, competence and so on would be required," he said.
