Sberbank closes deal to purchase 85% stake in Goods.ru marketplace

MOSCOW. April 15 (Interfax) - Sberbank has closed the deal to buy an 85% stake in the Goods.ru marketplace, according to data in the SPARK-Interfax analytical system.

Digital Assets, a Sberbank subsidiary, owns a stake in Marketplace LLC, having obtained the first 40% in early April and increased the package to 85% on Wednesday.

As planned, the M.Video-Eldorado electronics retailer has retained 10% in the company, while the founder of Goods.ru, Alexander Tynkovan, has retained 5%.

Sberbank announced at the end of March that the parties had signed the legally binding documentation for the deal and would close it in the second quarter.

As previously reported, Sberbank plans to invest around 30 billion rubles to develop Goods.ru.

Goods.ru was launched in test mode in 2017. Prior to the deal with Sberbank, the structure of the M.Video-Eldorado group and MVM LLC had 80% of the company, while Tynkovan had 20%.
