Russia registers 8,326 new Covid-19 cases, 399 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 8,326 new cases of Covid-19 and 399 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Over the past day, 8,326 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 84 regions of Russia, including 1,156 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (13.9%)," the headquarters said.

Over the past day, 399 people have died of Covid-19 across Russia, and 9,447 patients were discharged from hospitals upon recovery.

According to the headquarters, Moscow has registered 1,837 new cases of Covid-19, 52 deaths, and 1,751 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

Daily morbidity was the lowest in the Republic of Altai and Tuva (two cases each), as well as in the Jewish Autonomous District (one case). There were zero infections recorded in the Nenets Autonomous District.

Since the coronavirus epidemic began in Russia on March 2, 2020, it has registered a total of 4,666,209 cases of Covid-19, including 104,000 deaths and 4,291,223 recoveries.

Russian health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said on Wednesday that Russia has performed more than 124.4 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 255,000 over the past day. As many as 503,146 people remain under medical observation.
