Donbas needs new truce - Zelensky

KYIV. April 9 (Interfax) - There needs to be a new truce in Donbas, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said following a working trip to the region.

"After months of complying with the full and total ceasefire, we have returned to the need to establish a truce," Zelensky said on Telegram on Friday.

"Recently, Donbas has seen an increase in the activity of enemy snipers, who regularly target Ukrainian military positions," Zelensky said. "Twenty-six Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in Donbas since the beginning of the year," he said.

The president also urged Ukrainian officials "to travel to Donbas and provide support to Ukrainian troops."
