Gazprom delivers 1st batch of 'green' LNG to Europe

MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - Gazprom has completed its first (previously announced a week ago) shipment of carbon-neutral 'green' LNG to Europe.

This is the first supply of 'green' LNG to Europe, Shell Global LNG, a consignee of the cargo, said in a statement.

The cargo was delivered by the LNG Megrez tanker. It arrived to the Dragon terminal in Wales from Murmansk, where an LNG cargo delivered from the Yamal LNG facility (co-owners are Novatek, Total , CNPC, and SRF) was reloaded onto the tanker.

Shell has been supplying carbon-neutral LNG since mid-2019. Shell's 'green' LNG recipients include Japan's Tokyo Gas, South Korea's GS Energy, Taiwan's CPC and China's largest LNG importer, CNOOC. The operator of the first Russian LNG plant, Sakhalin Energy, which is also co-owned by Shell, along with Gazprom, Mitsui and Mitsubishi, has also set a course for organizing the supply of carbon-neutral LNG.
