Moscow metro to launch Face Pay system by yearend

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - The Face Pay system will be launched at every station of the Moscow metro by the end of 2021, the metro press service told Interfax.

"The Face Pay service [based on facial recognition] will become available throughout the metro system by the end of this year," the press service quoted metro deputy head Andrei Kichigin as saying.

Passengers will be able to use Face Pay service both at turnstile gates and at ticket offices, he said. The service is on a trial run.

Some 2,000 successful Face Pay passages through turnstile gates have been accomplished to date, and the work on launching Face Pay service at Moscow metro ticket offices is underway, the press service said.
