Russia registers 12,828 new Covid-19 cases, 467 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 12,828 new cases of Covid-19 and 467 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Over the past day, 12,828 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 1,302 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (10.1%)," the headquarters said.
Russia has been seeing a decline in daily coronavirus morbidity since the beginning of this year, and the numbers reported on Wednesday correlate to those of October 9-10, when, however, the coronavirus morbidity curve was on the rise. The situation is now stabilizing.
Over the past day, 17,919 coronavirus patients have been discharged from hospitals upon recovery, and 467 coronavirus-related deaths have been confirmed.
According to the headquarters, Moscow has registered 1,282 new Covid-19 cases, 59 deaths, and 2,243 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
As of this date, Russia has registered a total of 4,112,151 cases of Covid-19 (+0.31%), including 81,446 deaths and 3,642,582 recoveries.
Russian health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said on Wednesday that Russia has performed more than 107.5 million Covid-19 diagnostic tests to date, including 277,000 over the past day. As many as 611,768 people remain under medical observation.
