Serial deliveries of Tsirkon hypersonic missiles to Russia's Armed Forces to begin in 2022 - Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax) - Serial deliveries of the Tsirkon hypersonic missile to the Russian Armed Forces should begin in 2022, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said.

"Serial deliveries [of the Tsirkon missile] should start in 2022," Krivoruchko said at unified military goods commissioning day at the Defense Ministry on Friday.

"The positive results [of the missile's tests] allow us to switch to the next phase, launches from underwater carriers, to complete state trials in 2021, and to begin serial deliveries in 2022," Krivoruchko said when commenting on Tsirkon's successful test launches from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate.
