MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax) - As many as 20 criminal cases were initiated following the opposition's protests in regions, the majority of them deal with the use of violence against a representative of the authorities, Russian Investigative Committee spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko said.

"The head of the committee was informed that 20 criminal cases were opened following unsanctioned protests, a number of procedural inquiries are underway and procedural decisions will be made following them," Petrenko told journalists on Tuesday.
