Ukraine turns Russia's Covid-19 vaccines down

KYIV. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Health Ministry does not intend to purchase or receive Russia's coronavirus vaccines and is not holding any negotiations about it, the ministry said on its website.

Any assumptions about potential negotiations on the purchase of the Russian vaccines are unfounded from a legal point of view, the ministry said.

"There has been no notification that the Russian vaccine Gam-Covid-Vac was registered with the state under the established procedure. Additionally, according to information available, this product has not also been examined by and registered with the relevant authorities of the United States, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, Canada, or the European Union, which effectively makes it impossible to purchase and use it in Ukraine," the Health Ministry said.
