Russia registers 13,754 new coronavirus cases, 286 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. Oct 15 (Interfax) - Russia registered 13,754 new coronavirus cases and 286 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.
"Over the past day, 13,754 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 3,427 active asymptomatic cases (24.9%)," the headquarters said.
The daily increase in coronavirus cases reduced since Wednesday, when Russia reported 14,231 new coronavirus instances.
The growth is still the steepest in Moscow, which reported 3,942 coronavirus cases on Thursday, as against over 4,000 the day before.
According to the headquarters, 1,953 coronavirus patients were discharged from hospitals and 57 patients died in Moscow in the past 24 hours.
By now, Russia has seen a total of 1,354,163 coronavirus cases (+1.0%) in 85 regions, including 23,491 deaths and 1,048,097 recoveries, among them 8,392 patients discharged over the past day, the headquarters said.
More patients were discharged from hospitals upon recovery, compared to 7,920 on Wednesday.
According to the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor), Russia has performed over 52.2 million coronavirus tests, including 478,000 over the past day. As many as 286,630 people remain under medical observation.
