Moscow might reimpose quarantine for elderly people, reintroducing system of digital passes not planned - source

MOSCOW. Sept 24 (Interfax) - The Moscow authorities are considering the possible reimposition of quarantine measures for elderly people and residents, who are suffering from chronic diseases, amid a spike in the number of the cases of the coronavirus, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax.

"The number of coronavirus infections in Moscow is growing slowly, but steadily, that endangers the life and health of elderly people and people, who are suffering from chronic diseases, in the first place," the source said.

In this regard, "the possible reintroduction of quarantine measures for these categories of people is being mulled," he said.

The Moscow authorities are so far not planning to "close" commercial entities in the city, and reimpose the system of digital travel passes, the source said.
