RDIF plans to invest in Sovcomflot - Dmitriev

MOSCOW. Sept 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has confirmed its interest in investing in Sovcomflot, which is preparing to hold an IPO on the Moscow Exchange .

"The Far East is a big priority for us, and we have already invested several billion dollars there together with our partners in a range of projects. These are our co-investors from China, Japan, who are actively increasing investment in different sectors. We plan to invest both in Sovcomflot and in other companies of the region," the fund's head Kirill Dmitriev said during an Interfax online conference in response to a question about RDIF's plans in the Far East.

Sovcomflot's partial privatization has already been under discussion for many years, and earlier, when the deal's format was yet undetermined, Dmitriev spoke on a number of occasions of the interest of RDIF's foreign co-investors in the company.
