Russia registers 5,102 new Covid-19 cases, 129 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. Aug 12 (Interfax) - Russia registered 5,102 new Covid-19 cases and 129 deaths in the past 24 hours, the operative headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Over the past day, 5,102 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 84 regions of Russia, including 1,404 asymptomatic cases (27.5%) identified proactively," the headquarters said.
Russia registered fewer than 5,000 new coronavirus cases (4,985) on Tuesday for the first time since April.
The cumulative number of coronavirus cases has reached 902,701 in Russia, including 15,260 deaths and 710,298 recoveries (among them 7,123 patients discharged over the past day).
According to the headquarters, Moscow registered 689 new coronavirus cases, 12 deaths, and 1,088 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
The Rospotrebnadzor press service reported on Wednesday that Russia had performed more than 31.3 million coronavirus tests, including 244,000 in the past 24 hours. The latest update indicates that 234,547 people remain under medical observation.
