Covid-19 mortality rate in Russia at 1.62% - Health Minister Murashko
MOSCOW. July 24 (Interfax) - The Covid-19 mortality rate in Russia stands at 1.62% for the overall number of such cases, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said.
"The mortality rate stood at 1.62%. This is one of the world's lowest figures. But we value each human life, which is why medics have been working round-the-clock, saving the lives of our citizens," Murashko said at a meeting of the health ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states on Friday.
The non-working period in Russia "saw a 27-fold decline in the weekly growth rates, a circumstance which allowed us to stabilize the situation and avert any explosive growth," he said.
