Voting on constitutional amendments was organized at highest democratic level - Putin
MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he believes the vote on the amendments to the Russian Constitution was organized at the highest democratic level.
"The situation this year was special, and certainly, I closely followed the way this work was organized. It was organized in a very modern way, with a very high quality, at a high level, and it enabled the people to sincerely express their position on the amendments to the Constitution. Everything was organized exceptionally democratically," Putin said when meeting with Central Elections Commission Chairperson Ella Pamfilova.
Judging by the opinions of the monitors and members of the press, the number of irregularities during the vote was kept to a minimum, he said.
"As for democratic procedures, this was done at the highest level. I'd like to thank you for that," Putin said addressing Pamfilova.
