Russia reports nearly 6,720 new Covid-19 cases, 176 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Russia registered nearly 6,720 new coronavirus cases and 176 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.
"Over the past day, 6,718 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in 84 regions of Russia, including 2,182 active asymptomatic cases (32.5%)," the headquarters said.
Russia detected 6,760 new coronavirus cases on July 2, and 6,556 on July 1.
By now, Russia has registered 667,883 coronavirus cases, including 9,859 deaths and 437,893 recoveries (among them 8,915 patients discharged from hospitals over the past day). The active number of cases (the total number of cases minus all recoveries and all deaths) currently stands at 220,131.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, Russia has performed 20.4 million coronavirus tests by now, including 282,000 in the past 24 hours. As many as 284,158 people remain under medical observation.
Moscow reported 659 new Covid-19 cases, 34 deaths, and 1,591 recoveries over the past day, the headquarters said.
