Putin vows support for Macron's int'l initiatives

MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - Russia will support French President Emmanuel Macron's proposals on jointly addressing international problems, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"I know your determination to organize joint work on a lot of these issues. We will support your proposals in any way we can," Putin said during a videoconference with Macron on Friday.

"By the way, today is the date when the United Nations Charter was signed exactly 75 years ago. So, this should remind us that it's always important to combine efforts in combating common problems and common threats. If we want to achieve positive results, we should combine our efforts," he said.

Putin proposed that the two leaders discuss, in particular, the situation in hotspots, Ukraine, the Balkans, and the situation in Syria and Libya.
