Interfax, IMEMO to hold online session titled 'U.S. in the vortex of crises: strategic consequences' as part of Primakov Readings
The Interfax news agency will hold an online session as part of the Primakov Readings at noon on Thursday, June 25.
Subject: U.S. in the vortex of crises: strategic consequences.
Participants: Director of the World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Professor of RAS Feodor Voitolovsky, Director of the RAS Institute for U.S. and Canadian Studies Valery Garbuzov, Director of the Carnegie Moscow Center Dmitry Trenin.
Moderator: Russian Presidential Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov will also take part in the discussion.
The participants will discuss the following topics. Did the democrats in the U.S. manage to ride the wave of protests in the run-up to the election? Can one see a strategy to emerge from the internal political crisis? The participants will also assess prospects of using the "factor of force" in U.S. foreign and domestic policy.

The Primakov Readings is a new joint project of Interfax and the IMEMO.
