Bragin appointed new head coach of Russian national ice hockey team - federation

MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - Valery Bragin has been appointed to the post of head coach of Russia's national ice hockey team, the press service for the Russian Ice Hockey Federation said on Friday.

"The Ice Hockey Federation of Russia is publishing the names of the coaching staff of the national teams for the upcoming season. Valery Bragin is head coach," the press service said.

Bragin has been head coach of Russia's national under-20 ice hockey team since 2010 (except for 2012-2014). As a coach, he has also worked with the Khimik Voskrenensk ice hockey team, Kristall Saratov, Moscow's Spartak, Atlant in the Moscow region, CSKA, and the junior national ice hockey team.

The new coaching staff also includes coaches Alexei Zhamnov, Andrei Kozyrev, and Alexander Boikov, goalkeeping coach Rashit Davydov, fitness coaches Alexander Troshin and Yury Zhdanov, and coach methodologist Lars Johansson.

Alexei Kudashev was previously head coach of the Russian national ice hockey team.
