Most of coronavirus restrictions in Moscow to be lifted by July 1 - mayor

MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - Most of the restrictions imposed in Moscow to slow the spread of the new coronavirus infection will be lifted by July 1, and a timeline of this process should be drawn up next Monday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

"There have been numerous questions from businesses, who are asking for some certainty. The time has come now for us to draw up such a timeline. I think we could speak about such a timeline depending on how we live this week. I think such a timeline could be drawn up for June, that is, for the period up to July 1. That is, most of the restrictions existing in the city now could be lifted step by step by July 1," Sobyanin said on the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel on Thursday.

The process of lifting the restrictions will depend not only on the plans but also on the actual coronavirus situation, he said.

"However, judging by how the situation is developing, we will be able to meet this timeline," Sobyanin said.
