U.S. decision to withdraw from Open Skies Treaty infringes on transparency, trust in military sphere - Medvedev

MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax) - U.S. plans to withdraw from the Open Skies Treaty are undermining the goals of ensuring openness, transparency, and trust in the sphere of the military, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday.

"Basically, Washington has encroached on the goals set forth in the treaty and even reflected in its title, which is maintaining openness, transparency, and trust in the military sphere," Medvedev said on VKontakte, commenting on Washington's plans to withdraw from the Open Skies Treaty.
