Aeroflot Group gets 7.9 bln rubles in coronavirus subsidies

MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency has signed an order to allocate 7.89 billion rubles in government subsidies to the Aeroflot Group in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

"First Deputy Transport Minister and Federal Air Transport Agency head Alexander Neradko signed orders today on the provision of subsidies from the federal budget to airlines that are part of the Aeroflot Group for partial compensation of expenses. The overall amount granted to Aeroflot , Rossiya Airlines and Aurora Airlines is 7.89 billion rubles," an agency spokesperson told Interfax. She said earlier that the group filed for compensation of losses for February-April 2020.

The agency has paperwork for review from another six airlines: Smartavai, Ural Airlines, S7, Azur Air, Azimuth and Red Wings, she said.
