Growth in new coronavirus cases in Russia stopped - Mishustin
MOSCOW. May 18 (Interfax) - Growth in new coronavirus cases in Russia has been stopped, and positive dynamics have emerged, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.
"The coronavirus situation in our country remains complicated, but we can still say that we have managed to put a stop to growth in new cases," Mishustin said during an online meeting of the Presidium of the Coronavirus Response Coordination Council.
"Cautiously speaking, we have positive dynamics," he said.
"An increasing number of people are recovering and being discharged from hospitals," Mishustin said. "We view this fact as a result of the consistent efforts Russia has been undertaking for the past two months," he said.
"Strict self-isolation has played its role. It has gained us time and prevented a surge in new cases as happened in a number of other countries," Mishustin said.
