Sobyanin to make wearing face masks mandatory in Moscow on May 12
MOSCOW. May 7 (Interfax) - Wearing face masks and gloves will become mandatory on public transport in Moscow, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
"Giving the opportunity to work to a large number of people, we understand that the number of trips on transport, the number of people who will come into contact with each other will increase. It's necessary to offset this somehow. That's why we're introducing additional self-isolation measures on the subway, more strict requirements, the mandatory wearing of face masks and gloves on public transport, and other measures to control movement around the city, electronic passes - all this remains in force," Sobyanin said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 television channel on Thursday.
Wearing face masks and gloves on the subway will be mandatory starting on May 12, he said.
It is still too early to speak of easing coronavirus-related restrictions, Sobyanin said.
"Of course, not," he said.
