Azerbaijan extends travel ban until May 31 due to coronavirus

BAKU. April 29 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani government has extended a ban on travel until May 31, due to coronavirus, the republican operative headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.

"The ban on air and land arrivals and departures from the country has been extended until May 31, with the exception of cargo transport and charter flights," the statement said.

This measure is aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus in Azerbaijan, it said.

According to the latest information, Azerbaijan has recorded 1,717 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 22 deaths, and 1,221 recoveries. A total of 474 coronavirus patients are receiving therapy in hospitals.
