No explosive growth in spread of Covid-19 recorded in EAEU countries - public health officials
MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - There has been no explosive growth in the incidence of Covid-19 in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the chief public health officials of EAEU countries concluded at a joint meeting.
"While the situation surrounding the spread of the coronavirus infection worldwide remains tense, no explosive growth in the incidence of Covid-19 has been observed on Eurasian territory thus far," the Russian Federal Service for Health and Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor) said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.
Rospotrebnadzor head Anna Popova earlier hosted a videoconference of EAEU chief public health officials, the statement said.
The participants included representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Eurasian Economic Commission. Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were also invited.
