Impossible to ease coronavirus-related restrictions for May holidays - Rospotrebnadzor head

MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - The restrictions earlier imposed in Russia due to the spread of Covid-19 cannot be eased during the upcoming May holidays, head of the Russian Federal Service for Health and Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor) and the country's chief public health official Anna Popova said.

"We'll prepare recommendations in time for the May holidays. The upcoming holidays aren't a reason to violate the existing requirements. This is obvious," Popova said at a meeting of the presidium of the coordination council on the coronavirus situation.

"It's simply inadmissible to allow today's situation to worsen. Otherwise, everything that has been done, all this work, and all the efforts of disciplined people could be for nothing. This mustn't be allowed to happen," she said.
