Mishustin simplifies duty-free imports of tests for Covid-19, ventilators, protective masks, suits to Russia

MOSCOW. April 20 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has eased the procedure for duty-free imports of medical supplies used in dealing with coronavirus infection and intended to be donated to medical institutions, the government website said.

In accordance with the document, these medical goods include tests for Covid-19, ventilators, medical masks, and protective suits. These products will be allowed to import without paying custom duties until September 30.

"The designated purpose of these goods must be confirmed by a special document. Previously it was issued by authorized bodies of state authorities in regions. The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Health Ministry are also vested with such powers now. This will accelerate the process of receiving permissions," the note to the document said.

This measure will simplify and speed up the duty-free imports of medical products to the country to counter coronavirus, the note said.
