Aeroflot suspends international ticket sales to ease burden on call center

MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - Aeroflot Russian Airlines has suspended sales of tickets for international flights until the end of July in order to ease the burden on its contact center and sales offices, the company's press secretary, Yulia Spivakova said.

"We made the decision to suspend sales until there is certainty with the resumption of international air travel. This is a technical decision, it does not mean the actual cancellation of flights. We made it so as not to create an additional burden on our contact center and sales offices in connection with new and new rebooking cycles," Spivakova said.

"We want to note that one should not look for forecasts in this decision regarding the resumption of international flights," she added.

Russia completely halted international air services as of March 27 due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the exception of charter flights to bring back Russian citizens stuck abroad.
