EAEU countries stand for cessation of armed conflicts, unilateral sanctions in light of coronavirus pandemic

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - The members of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council have called on all countries to cease armed conflicts and unilateral sanctions in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

"We call on all countries to support international cooperation, enhance confidence, cease armed conflicts, trade wars, unilateral financial and economic sanctions, and strictly observe the provisions of international law," the leaders said in a statement following a meeting held by videoconference on Tuesday.

The leaders emphasized that the fight against the coronavirus pandemic should not result in a severing of developed cooperation ties, a halt in international trade, or ceasing investment activities.
