Covid-19 sickness rate tops 10,000 in Russia, thirteen die in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - The Covid-19 death toll grew by 13 cases to 76 in Russia in the past 24 hours, the operative headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.
"Thirteen coronavirus patients died over the past day, including seven in Moscow, three in the Moscow region, two in St. Petersburg, and one in the Perm Territory. The death toll has risen to 76 in Russia," the statement said.
Nearly 1,500 new coronavirus cases were identified bringing the total Covid-19 sickness rate in Russia to over 10,000, the operative headquarters for the coronavirus response said.
"As many as 1,459 Covid-19 cases were identified in 50 regions of Russia in the past 24 hours," the statement said.
According to the headquarters, 857 new cases were identified in Moscow, 199 in the Moscow region, 44 in St. Petersburg, 40 in the Bryansk region, and 31 in Komi.
"As of today, Russia has recorded 10,131 coronavirus cases (+ 16.8%) in 81 regions," the statement said.
As many as 698 coronavirus patients have recovered in Russia by now, including 118 who were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours.
"Some 118 patients were discharged upon recovery over the past day," the statement said.
"The total number of discharged recovered patients has reached 698 in Russia," it said.
