Russia records 1,175 new Covid-19 cases in past 24 hours, total sickness rate rises to 8,600 - HQ
MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - Russia identified 1,175 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total sickness rate to 8,672, according to the operative headquarters for the coronavirus response.
"As many as 1,175 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 56 regions of Russia over the day," the headquarters said on Wednesday.
Out of 1,175 new cases, 660 were identified in Moscow, 95 in the Moscow region, 34 in St. Petersburg, 32 in the Leningrad region, 27 in Mary El, and 25 in the Murmansk region.
"As of this day, Russia has seen 8,672 coronavirus cases (+ 15.7%) in 81 regions," the headquarters said.
