Covid-19 sickness rate nearly 1,000 up to 6,300 cases in Russia in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - The Covid-19 sickness rate grew by 954 to 6,343 cases in Russia in the past 24 hours, the operative headquarters said in a statement on Monday.

"A total of 954 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 49 regions of Russia over the day," the statement said.

There are 591 new cases in Moscow, 82 in the Moscow region, 35 in St. Petersburg, and 31 in Komi.

Sixteen new cases were identified in Tatarstan, 11 in the Krasnodar territory, ten in each of the Ivanovo, Tula and Vologda regions, nine in each of the Voronezh and Nizhny Novgorod regions, the Stavropol Territory and Mary El, eight in each of the Lipetsk and Tambov region and Buryatia, seven in the Volgograd region, six in each of the Arkhangelsk region and Adygea, five in each of the Bryansk, Ryazan, Leningrad and Penza regions, Dagestan, and the Altai Territory, four in each of the Belgorod, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, and three in each of the Murmansk and Irkutsk regions, North Ossetia, and the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Two new cases have been identified in each of the Vladimir, Tver, Novgorod, Orenburg and Kemerovo regions, Karelia, Chuvashia, and Khakassia, and one in each of the Kaluga, Kostroma, Oryol, Smolensk, Pskov, and Ulyanovsk regions, Chechnya, Mordovia, and Crimea.

"For now, Russia has recorded 6,343 coronavirus cases in 80 regions," the statement said.
