Duma set to adopt bill vesting govt with power to declare state of emergency as early as on Tuesday
MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax) - The State Duma may pass the bill, which vests the national government with the power to declare an alert and a state of emergency in Russia, as early as on Tuesday, Chairman of the Duma Security and Anti-Corruption Committee Vasily Piskaryov said on Monday.
"If we can, and the regulations do not prohibit us from doing so, I will ask for considering this bill in the second and third readings so that it could take effect as soon as possible," Piskaryov told the press.
