Measure on tax for deposits of over 1 mln rubles linked to restoring fair balance in economic sphere - Peskov
MOSCOW. March 26 (Interfax) - The state has sufficient funds and possibilities to support those that might find themselves in difficult circumstances at this time, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
"No, that's not right. The state has enough funds and possibilities, financial, technical, and technological to provide support to those that might end up in difficult circumstances, whether an individual or a company," Peskov told reporters on Thursday.
He replied thus when asked whether, in the case that the measure on tax for interest on deposits of 1 million rubles is not implemented, the government would not have enough funds to support adversely affected strata of the population in the current situation.
"At such times, of course, it is very important to restore the balance of fairness in the economic sphere, and this is likely one step, let's say, on that path," Peskov said.
He additionally said that in his address to the nation regarding the coronavirus, the head of state had not set any concrete deadlines for the application of taxes on funds moved abroad, as well as on charges for bank deposits of more than 1 million rubles.
"In the president's speech these measures were not limited by any kind of deadline or end to any crisis events," Peskov told reporters, answering a relevant question.
