Tour operators to receive 3.5 bln rubles from Russian govt reserve fund - source

MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - The Russian Ministry of Economic Development has drafted an order to allocate 3.5 billion rubles from the government's reserve fund, an informed source told Interfax.

The project proposes allocating funds to the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) for assigning subsidies for state support to tour operators due to the spread of coronavirus.

Tour operators, along with airlines, were the first to be dealt a blow by the coronavirus, being practically completely deprived of business due to severe restrictions on travel between countries aimed at averting the spread of the pandemic.
