Number of coronavirus cases in Russia reaches almost 200 - operational HQ

MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - The number of new cases of coronavirus in Russia has reached more than 50 in the past 24 hours, the operational headquarters said.

"Over the past 24 hours Russia has registered 52 cases of coronavirus infection among Russian citizens in 23 regions," the headquarters said on Thursday.

This brings the total to 199 cases, of which, 188 are Russian citizens and eleven are foreign citizens.

There have been 12 new cases in Moscow, five in the Moscow region, five in the Sverdlovsk region, three each in the Tula region and the Krasnoyarsk and Khabarovsk territories, two each in the Tambov, Voronezh, and Kirov regions and in the Krasnodar territory, one each in the Ivanovo, Ryazan, Murmansk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Saratov, and Tver regions, in the Perm territory, Yakutia, the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous district, in St. Petersburg, and in Chuvashia.

"No fatalities due to coronavirus have been registered," the headquarters said.
