Ilyushin Finance Co. to supply Atlant-Soyuz with 45 planes worth $1.2 bln

LE BOURGET, France. June 16 (Interfax) - Russian airline Atlant-Soyuz will receive 45 planes with a total value of $1.2 billion from leasing company Ilyushin Finance Co. as part of an agreement of intent signed at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget on Tuesday.

Specifically, Atlant-Soyuz will receive 30 An-148 planes starting in 2010 and 15 Tu-204 aircraft starting in 2011 based on a three-year contract.

The aircraft will be leased for ten years.

The companies plan to sign a firm contract on the aircraft before September 1, 2009.

It was reported earlier that Voronezh Aircraft Manufacturing Company could receive the order for the 30 An-148 planes. Under this scenario, the plant would deliver the first two planes in 2010 and then produce ten planes per year starting in 2011 until the order was completed.

Ilyushin Finance Co. is a subsidiary of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC). The company finances the supply of almost all types of Russian planes produced by UAC and also handles the leasing of Il-96, Tu-204 and An-148 aircraft. Besides Russian companies, the main buyers of such aircraft are Cuba, Venezuela and Iran.

Atlant-Soyuz Airlines was set up in 1993 and is the official carrier of the Moscow government.
