Gazprom board to examine gas sales in Russia, electricity investment

MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - The board of directors of Gazprom plans to discuss ways to improve the reliability of the gas transportation system and to raise the effectiveness of gas sales on the domestic market at a meeting on July 21, the gas giant said in a press release.

Another item on the agenda is a discussion of the performance of Gazprom's investments in the electricity business in 2008.

The directors will also examine progress in implementation of long-term gas delivery contracts with industrial consumers in Russia, the schedule for the Gazprom board in the second half of the year and the makeup of the board of directors' audit committee.
