Germany helping Magna, Sberbank get shares in Opel

MUNICH. July 16 (Interfax) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Thursday "we are doing everything possible" to ensure that problems with the planned acquisition of shares in Opel by Magna and Sberbank are solved within the next few days.

Merkel, who was speaking at a news conference after talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, credited Magna with making "excellent" moves to help Opel and build "a strategic partnership" with Russia.
