China's tungsten concentrate output rises 5.6 pct year-on-year in H1

Shanghai. July 21. INTERFAX-CHINA - China produced 49,339 tons of tungsten concentrate in the first half of 2009, up 5.6 percent on an annual basis, according to the latest figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics on July 21.

In June alone, China's tungsten concentrate production totaled 10,700 tons, an increase of 20.32 percent month-on-month and 31.1 percent year-on-year.

Jiangxi Province, the country's largest tungsten producing region, saw tungsten concentrate output fall by 14.8 percent year-on-year to 22,331 tons in the first six months of the year.

Meanwhile, Hunan Province, China's second-largest tungsten producing region, produced 15,035 tons of tungsten concentrate during the same period, up 14 percent year-on-year.
