Belarus suspends exports to Russia from three meat, dairy plants

MINSK. July 22 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry's main veterinary department has temporarily suspended exports of products to Russia from three Belarusian plants - Luninets Dairy, Bobruisk Meat Plant and Kletsky Butter Plant.

The ministry is also stepping up control over products produced at the Gomel and Brest meat plants due to repeated appearance of antibiotics in samples from these plants, Darya Kozlovskaya, the ministry's press secretary, told Interfax.

The meat plants argue the problems are arising from raw materials.

Russian food safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor temporarily banned imports from Gomel Meat Plant and Brest Meat Plant on July 21 due to the discovery of antibiotics in products supplied from the plants.
